Marketing

Post job photos to Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, see the results per channel, and turn finished work into website articles.

Marketing in Combdex turns the photos of finished work into posts on Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and into articles for the company website. The photos are already on the job, Dex can draft the words, and the results come back per channel, day by day, beside the post.

Where does marketing live?

Open Marketing. The sections are Website, Google listing, Posts, Reviews, Forms and Channels. Showcases have their own page in the menu. Everything here reads from the same photos, projects and contacts as the rest of the app, so a post knows which job it came from.

How do I post job photos?

  1. Open Marketing, Posts, and press New post.
  2. Press Add to pick photos from the media library, or Upload. The first photo is the main photo; Google shows only that one.
  3. Write the caption, or type a rough idea and press Write with Dex.
  4. Pick the channels. Each chip is a connected account.
  5. Change the words for one channel if it needs different words. A blank override uses the main caption.
  6. For Google, choose an offer, an event or a standard post, and fill its fields. For YouTube, add the video title.
  7. Press Post now, Schedule or Add to queue. Save draft keeps it without a time.

The preview beside the composer shows the post as each selected channel draws it, with a switcher between channels. Read it before you send. The full steps are in Posts and scheduling; connecting each account is in Social channels.

What results come back?

For each published post, per channel: likes, comments, shares, saves, clicks, views, follows, impressions, reach and the engagement rate, as a total and as a series day by day. The numbers refresh every hour.

The Google listing section shows the listing itself over 7, 30 or 90 days: how people found it on Maps and by name, the search terms that brought it up, and a heat map of the best time to post. The Reviews section collects Google and Facebook reviews, with a Needs reply filter and a reply box on each one. See Google listing and reviews.

How does a finished job become an article?

The content engine writes long-form pages for your own website from your own completed work. The Ready to write list holds the completed projects with photos and no article yet.

  1. Open Marketing, Website, and start a new article, or pick a project from Ready to write.
  2. Pick the photos the article is built around.
  3. Choose the type: blog post, service page, portfolio, how-to guide, case study or cost guide.
  4. Press Generate article. The engine reads the project, its sessions, its notes, its tasks and its line items, and writes from those facts.
  5. Edit the article, the search title, the meta description and the focus keyword.
  6. Press Send draft to website.

The article arrives on your WordPress site as a draft. Nothing goes live until you publish it there. Articles and the website connection are not on every plan; see pricing and Articles from your work.

What is a showcase?

A showcase is a page of photos from one job that you share with a customer or a prospect, at showcases.combdex.com/ and its own name. You choose Public, or Preview-only with no downloads. Combdex records views, photo opens, phone taps and downloads. Showcase pages are not indexed by search engines, so a customer's job does not appear in a search under their address. See Showcases.

An example: a finished gate, Friday afternoon

An invented job, to show the mechanics.

The technician closes the session on a new slide gate with twelve photos. In the office, the owner opens New post, picks the three best photos, and types "new slide gate on a farm entrance, solar, keypad". Write with Dex returns a caption that names the operator from the project's line items and the town from the Location. She picks Google and Facebook, shortens the Facebook words, and presses Add to queue. The post goes out on Tuesday at 09:00, the next slot of the weekly schedule. On Wednesday the Posts section shows the reach and the clicks per channel. In Ready to write, the same project waits for its case study.

Who can post?

Composing and publishing are capabilities, granted per user. Connecting channels and editing the posting schedule are for the people who manage the channels. A user without the capability sees the queue and cannot send.

What Combdex does not do yet

Publishing runs through a publishing partner, and each platform's own rules apply: a channel that is not connected cannot be chosen. Combdex does not run paid ads, send newsletters or post to platforms other than the four above. The per-channel results need the partner's analytics; when they are not available, the section says so instead of showing zeros. Articles go to WordPress sites only.

Questions people ask

Which channels can Combdex post to?

Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Each company connects its own accounts in Marketing, Channels, through the platform's own sign-in. The number of accounts a company can connect depends on the plan; the pricing page lists it.

Can Dex write the post?

Yes. Type a rough idea and press Write with Dex. Dex drafts the caption and the channel fields from the photos and the linked project. You read it in the preview for each channel, change it, and press the button that sends it. Dex never posts by itself.

Does an article publish on my website by itself?

No. Send draft to website creates the article as a draft on your WordPress site, with its photos in the media library. You read it there and press publish yourself.

Can I schedule posts?

Yes, on the plans that include scheduling. Pick a date and a time, or add the post to the queue, which takes the next free slot of your weekly posting schedule. A scheduled post can be edited or cancelled until it goes out.
