Contractor website contact form
A website contact form that creates a lead in your job app: hosted, embedded or in WordPress. Spam stays out of leads; returning customers are matched.
A contractor website contact form should do one thing well: turn the person who filled it in into a lead you can call back, with their details, their question and where they came from, before anybody opens an email inbox. Combdex forms do that on your own site, at their own address or on a WordPress site, and they keep spam out of the leads list without throwing it away.
Why does the usual contact form lose jobs?
The usual form sends an email. The email lands in a shared inbox, between invoices from suppliers and newsletters, and somebody copies the name and number into the job app when they get to it. Every step is a place to lose the enquiry: the email goes to spam, the office is out on a job, the number is copied with a digit wrong. The first contractor to call back usually wins the job.
How does a Combdex form work?
You build it in Marketing, Forms: name, phone, email, the street address of the job, a description of the job, and choices such as Service type and Urgency. A question can wait on an earlier choice, so "Which gate?" shows only when the visitor picked "Gate repair". The form lives in one of three places:
- On your website, with two lines of HTML and no iframe.
- At its own address on app.combdex.com, with a QR code.
- On a WordPress site, through the Combdex Bridge plugin.
An edit saved in Combdex changes all three. See Forms for the builder and Hosting and embedding for each route.
What happens when the visitor presses send?
The submission is checked, matched and turned into a lead in one pass. A returning customer is attached to the contact you already have. A new person becomes a new contact. The lead carries the answers, the consent wording the visitor saw and the source: direct, organic, paid, social, email or referral. The owners and admins get an email; the lead shows in Leads on the web and on the phone at once.
Every clean submission is its own lead, even from the same person, because a second enquiry is a second job more often than a duplicate.
How is spam handled?
Two layers. At the door: a hidden honeypot field, a minimum fill time, a single-use token and ceilings per address and per company. Then a score: links in the answers, a fill in a few seconds, text in capitals and the same answer in three boxes. A submission over the line is saved as Flagged and stops. It makes no lead and sends no email. If a real customer was flagged, open the submission and press Not spam.
What happens when the same person calls?
With your phone system connected, the person who filled in the form at lunch and calls at five is the same contact. The call shows by name in the Inbox, and with visitor tracking on your site it shows the pages they read before they rang. See Visitor tracking.

What Combdex does not do yet
A public form has no file upload, on purpose; ask for photos by text after the first reply. There is no address autocomplete. Combdex has no consent banner for its visitor tracking. The WordPress connection is not on every plan; see pricing.

Questions people ask
How do I get website form submissions into my job app?
Build the form in Combdex and put it on your site. Every clean submission becomes a lead with the contact, the answers and the source attached. Nothing is copied from an inbox, and no third-party connector sits between the form and the lead.
Does it work without a website?
Yes. Switch on A page of its own and the form has its own address on app.combdex.com, with a QR code for the van, a business card or a yard sign. Text the link to a caller who wants to send the details in writing.
Can I use it on a WordPress site?
Yes, with the Combdex Bridge plugin. Add the form with a shortcode or the Combdex form block. The site renders the form itself and relays each submission server to server. Any other site takes two lines of HTML.
Will spam fill my leads?
No. A honeypot, a minimum fill time, a single-use token and ceilings per address and per company stop most bots at the door. A submission that scores as spam is kept and marked Flagged, with no lead, no notice and no reply. Not spam restores it.
What if the customer already exists?
Combdex matches on email or phone and attaches the new lead to that contact, with their history beside it. The contact is never edited by the form. A Location you do not hold yet is reported on the lead, for a person to check.
